There is now a simpler way to enter the NJ State Fair SpectaCross! In addition to our full-service registration page on BikeReg.com, SpectaCross now also has a “Simplified EZ Entry” . This new EZ Entry registration is perfect for those people who thought the SpectaCross class structure was “too complex”. After detailed troubleshooting, we have determined that the most likely cause for the confusion was that some riders are in the habit of clicking straight through to the confirmed riders page without first reading the registration page (or race website) and so they didn’t have any context for the classes from the BikeClicks.com Classy Class(sic). To help them, we have created the new Simplified SpectaCross EZ Entry registration site to cater to those riders who couldn’t follow the step-by-step directions on the registration page of the regular registration. (What? You thought we wouldn’t heckle them? EVERYBODY gets heckled at SpectaCross. We’d heckle Sven Nys if he showed up. Heck, we even heckle ourselves -- regularly.)
Ironically, the very thing that made the SpectaCross class structure “sooooo complex” (sic) are the unique classes in the BikeClicks Classy Class(sic), a race that was created as a satirical commentary on the ever-increasing number of classes in cycling (really, is “Red Sox Nation” any less arbitrary or relevant than “Cat. 4 Masters 40-42” at a Time Trial?). Normally we find irony to be amusing, but this time it’s costing us money. So tell all your simple friends (yes, we’re heckling again) that there’s now a way to enter SpectaCross that is so simple that even they can figure it out. Just tell them to search for SpectaCross on BikeReg and select “Simplified SpectaCross EZ Entry”. You can probably even talk them into driving you to the race while you’re at it.
